He is currently working as a senior researcher and assistant professor at ABRII and leads the Biofuel Research Team (BRTeam) and Nanosystems Research Team (NRTeam). He is also an adjunct professor of Lebanese University and Tehran University. Dr. Tabatabaei`s broad research focus is biofuels production from waste resources as well as nanosystems fabrication for a wide range of applications. He has co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, 4 book chapters and has achieved more than 10 patents. Other than being a regular reviewer for more than 30 international journals including Biotechnology Advances, Bioresource Technology, Journal of Membrane Science, Biosensors and Bioelectronics and others, he is currently serving as the editor-in-chief for the Biofuel Research Journal. Dr. Tabatabaei has been working closely with United Nation Development Program (SGP/GEF/UNDP) in his capacity as the founding coordinator of BRTeam’s extension branch; Extension Group of Environmentalists (EGE), for the promotion of waste-oriented biofuels in the developing world.

Dr. Keikhosro Karimi started his Ph.D on ethanol from lignocelluloses on 2000 in Chemical Engineering Department, Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), continued as an exchange student in Chemical Reaction Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, and received his PhD in 2005 from IUT. Then, he continued his research on biofuel from wastes as a post doc at University of Borås. Currently, he has a position as a senior researcher and assistant professor in Chemical Engineering Department, IUT. He is also the director of Industrial Biotechnology Group, Institute for Biotechnology, IUT and director of Advanced Chemical Engineering Program, Chemical Engineering Department, IUT.
