Furthermore, he has about 8 years of part-time industrial experiences in biological-related industries and has been involved in design, supervision, and start-up of an ethanol plant in Iran. He was also the manager of 11 research projects in the field of biofuels. Currently, he is supervising 9 Ph.D students and 12 M.Sc students in the field of biofuels. Dr. Karimi is a reviewer for several international journals, editorial board member of Lignocellulose Journal, and editor-in-chief of Journal of Biomass to Biofuel. He is also the editor of a book entitled “Lignocellulose-based Bioproducts” to be published in Springer International Publishing.

Dr. Rajeev Kumar received his PhD in Biochemical and Chemical Engineering from Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, USA. He is currently working as a Research Professor at the Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT), Bourns College of Engineering, University of California, Riverside (UCR), CA, USA. Prior to UCR, Dr. Kumar served as a Director and Scientist at Zymetis, Inc., College Park, Maryland for almost two years. Dr. Kumar’s broad research focus is conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to biofuels and chemicals via biochemical and chemocatalytic routes. He has co-authored more than 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Other than being a regular reviewer for several international journals including Biotechnology and Bioengineering, Bioresource Technology, PNAS, and others, he is currently serving as an associate editor for the Journal of Biomass to Biofuel and is the editorial board member of Biotechnology for Biofuels and Ethanol. Dr. Kumar has been honored with Outstanding Reviewer award in 2010 and 2011 for his contribution to Bioresource Technology journal, Elsevier Ltd., Oxford, UK.

Dr. Ilona Sárvári Horváth received her PhD in Bioscience with specialization in Chemical Reaction Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. She has worked at the University of Borås, Sweden since 2006 and currently has a position as senior lecturer and an academic degree as Associate professor. Her research was previously focused on identifying and solving problems caused by the presence of inhibiting compounds during the fermentation step in a lignocelluloses - to - ethanol process. The aim of her recent research at the University of Borås is to design effective technologies for the utilization of the organic fraction of different wastes streams for bio-energy and bio-fuel production. She has co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles connected to these fields. She acts regularly as reviewer for several international journals including Bioresource Technology, and Biotechnology for Biofuels.

The first articles of the Biofuel Research Journal (BRJ) are now live and freely available.

A new online journal, BRJ is for scientists committed to advancing research in biofuel by bridging various related strong fields: biodiesel, bioethanol, biobuthanol, biogas, biomass, algae, bioreactions, bioreactors, membrane-bioreactors, fermentation, biorefinery (e.g. membrane separation technology), bioprocess, applied microbiology, combustion, and bioresource technologies associated with conversion or production of biofuel. Moreover, novel and integrated biofuel processing and hybrid systems as well as energy audit for biofuel production plants are of interest. The journal also seeks to publish articles with a focus on promotion of biofuel applications in the developing world for indigenous development.

The Editor-in-Chief; Meisam Tabatabaei, and International Advisory Board Members; Yusuf Chisti, Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, Seeram Ramakrishna welcome submissions that will engage worldwide discourse and ignite the interest of academics to explore new ways of keeping our world clean and healthy for future generations through the application of biofuel. The Aims & Scope and Guide for Authors can be found on the journal's homepage at: www.biofueljournal.com.

Papers published in Biofuel Research Journal are published at no processing charge and are freely available online. BRJ has already been entered into evaluation by Thomson Reuters.

We look forward to welcoming you as an author and a reader.
